Here’s A Pain Website With A Place To Write Your Story

June 22nd, 2007 · 2 Comments

We’re looking in this Friday series at pain organization websites that have great sections for patients.  Today’s is:

The National Pain Foundation

The site offers helpful information about pain, its treatment, and online support groups.  As well, it has:

  • a monthly email newsletter of what’s new on their website

  • a place to keep your personal pain journal - to write your story

  • a place to keep your personal pain inventory – to record your experiences, along with what helps and what doesn’t

You’re invited to send in your own recommendations of professional organizations related to pain, along with why you like them, to Submissions, and I may use them for future Friday posts.  (My disclaimer states that, while I believe these websites that I feature are sound and valuable sites, I don’t monitor what they post, and as such, I don’t specifically endorse the information or services provided by them.  These organizations are solely responsible for the information they provide.)

Tell your story is a good way of increasing awareness. We have a page titled “OUR STORIES” in my google group. I’ve visited other groups who also do the same. As a group we are also writing a collective story of the anguish, the emotional component of suffering from chronic pain. We had thought to write collectively and look at ways of using this story to promote awareness.
