This (de-stressing) is easier said than done, but I’ve found over the past 42 years – where I’ve had 5 spinal surgeries, thyroid cancer, prostate cancer, and been diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth – that this works.
Do not stress and fret about what you can’t do anymore that you used to enjoy. Instead, focus on getting satisfaction from what you can do in your current condition and then push to do more. However, keep your pushes to baby steps so that a failure does not set you back. Over time you may find that you’re doing much more than you thought you could. As far as the things you can’t do anymore that you enjoyed - keep the good memories and banish the regrets.
