How are you doing with your Giving Experiment?
So here’s a week’s report of my daily giving as part of my Giving Experiment:
Tuesday – I put some extra goodies in an Ebay package of trains I sold, to surprise the buyer.
Wednesday – I passed on a book about squirrels to a woman at work who also feeds squirrels (Squirrels at my Window).
Thursday – I made extra effort to do dishes at home.
Friday – We walked my sister’s dog again to help out.
Saturday – I surprised my husband with a B&B stay for Valentine’s Day.
Sunday – I made homemade dog biscuits (yummy peanut butter and sweet potato) to share with all the neighborhood dogs I know – heart shaped for Valentine’s Day.
Monday – At work, one of my students showed a lot of maturity and willingness to help out, so I sent an email about his work to our director and his supervisor.
Tuesday – I made an extra effort to listen and let someone else talk in a conversation today, rather than add my own experience.
I find it’s easy to notice little ways to help, be nice and do little “acts of kindness.” The experience has made me pay better attention to those opportunities, and do them.
I think I notice and appreciate more the things done for me too. (And I’ve appreciated the gifts to me from others who are joining me in this month of giving!)
Happy Valentine’s Day to all.
