There’s a new app from the AMA called “My Medications.” It provides a place for you to store and update your medication list, including doses and how you take your medication. There’s also room for your allergy and immunization info, as well as your health care providers’ contact info. As long as you have your phone, you have this crucial information. You can also email the information to health care providers or your family.
I love when technology improves health care!

Thank you! I can never remember when I’m at the doctor – now I won’t look so foolish!

It’s always a struggle trying to recall everything there is to discuss with my PM Doc when I am in the visit, then when it’s through and the pressure’s off the unforeseen happens,..the wrong refill amount or date and I’m sitting at the pharmacy realizing I screwed up again just because I didn’t take time to write a few things down to go over what’s been going through my head for the last three weeks! I soon will start putting down what I want to bring up!

You know you’re on too much medication when you have to keep lists of them. Have you ever thought about seeing doctors who have a more holistic, natural approach to pain relief? Pain medications tend to just cover up pain instead of finding the root cause of it. Not to mention the known, and unknown side effects!

Less medication is not necessarily better! Some patients with pain need multiple medications to have pain relief and function better. Holistic definitely has a place, but it doesn’t have to be either/or.
