Our local Phillies won the World Series, and the next day I saw people wearing red P baseball hats and Phillies t-shirts, and giving each other the thumbs up sign. There was a cheerful camraderie in the air in our City of Brotherly Love. And tomorrow we’ll be voting for our next President. Democrats cheering their team, and Republicans banding together for theirs.

What these 2 situations made me think of is the importance of being a part of something bigger than yourself. Being able to focus on something outside yourself and share something exciting with others. Being able to focus away from pain, and have something more important than your chronic pain condition in your life.
So my question to you is… What gets you going in the morning? What bigger picture do you love being a part of? What team are you on?
And of course, don’t forget to VOTE!

You are so right about being involved in others things and its ability to help take the focus off the pain. Of course I think of myself as on my family’s team, but also as being part of a team of bloggers here, sharing our lives and stories with one another. I also love to scrapbook and I enjoy the friends I share that hobby with. I have lots of teams and am so grateful for each of them!
