Our July How to Cope with Pain contest is over (it took an extra week because of tech problems!). The entries were really wonderful! Winners were selected based on a combination of my panel of experts, your votes below, and comments the articles received.

The order of winners is…
- Emily wrote 5 Tips to Handle Your Worst Pain Symptoms
- Margaret shared What Gives Her Relief (with the most comments!)
- Michele wrote How Much I’ve Learned about Coping with Pain
- Llano wrote about Suggestions for Coping with Pain
- Kathy wrote 7 Tips to Cope with Pain
- Esther asked a Monday Chat question, What’s Your Favorite Game for Distraction from Pain?
Because all the entries were really good, everyone will win a prize! The winners will receive their choice of: Life Disrupted: Getting Real About Chronic Illness in Your Twenties and Thirties by Laurie Edwards, Living with Fibromyalgia: A Journey of Hope and Understanding, a film by Daneen Akers and Stephen Eyer about Fibromyalgia, a meditation CD from Meditation Society, Nickie’s Nook: Sharing the Journey by Nickie Coby, or a symptom tracker product from SoundTells.
Great job, everyone!

I’d like to cast a vote for Emily’s submission. It was a hard decision, though. Everyone had great thoughts to share.

I’d like to cast a vote for Michele… she advocates my favorite pain-control technique, namely: keeping things in perspective! Thanks to all the contestants… all the submissions were great!

I vote for Margaret. it was a truely inspiring article. Meds are useful in some ways , but side affects could be worse. She shows that you do not have to reach for a bottle everytime you hurt. I love her advice and coping skills. this is one awesome woman . Margaret is a winner!
