3 Ideas To Show Your Love To Those Who Support You

February 20th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Our How Do You Show Your Love Contest is officially over.  This contest was for your favorite way either to say thanks for the love and support you receive – or – to show your love for someone with chronic pain.

We only had 3 entries, and here they are:
1.  Leilani writes, “I enjoy writing love notes and hiding them in my fiance’s pockets or shoes or any other place I can find to surprise him.  He enjoys finding them unexpectedly!”

2.  Jeisea writes, “My best way of showing I love someone who cares for me is to listen to them, and let them know I care and appreciate them and what they do.”

3.  Emily writes, “My favorite way to say thank you for all that my husband does for me (in chronic pain) is to cook.  He loves to eat, and so I do my best to cook dinner for him.  Some days it’s difficult to do, but I dig deep and try to make something yummy and healthy for both of us.”

Because I like each of these ideas, and because there were only 3 entries, I’ve decided to give each person a prize!!  Leilani, Jeisea and Emily, please let me know your #1, #2 and #3 choice among the following prizes, as well as your addresses.  You can send this here.

  1. Lisa Copen’s book, Beyond Casseroles:  505 Ways to Encourage a Chronically Ill Friend, (the original prize).
  2. Lorimer Moseley’s book, Painful Yarns.
  3. A guided meditation CD and 12 issues of The Inner Traveler from Meditation Station.

(Hopefully each of you will prefer a different prize, or would like any of them :)

Thanks to Leilani, Jeisea and Emily for making the world a more love-filled place!

Also, I’d appreciate some feedback on contests here at How to Cope with Pain – how should I interpret only 3 entries.  Yes or No to contests?  Do you like them occasionally?  Or, would you prefer not to see them?  Either way is fine with me – what’s important is what you, the readers, want!
