Mantra for a Really Hard Day
Pain does not go to the grave with us.
Where there is Pain, there is Life.
Where there is Life, there is Hope.
Where there is Hope, there is Gratitude.
Where there is Gratitude, there is Joy.
Where there is Joy, Pain has no power.
Thanks to Nancy for a powerful poem.

This is my third try to leave a comment, so if it’s a repeat i apologize.
What an absolutely beautiful poem. I get those scary thoughts sometimes that I will still have pain after I die. Our minds do strange things living with pain whether physical, mental, or emotional. I just joined this site and very much enjoy it. I wrote a poem about 6 years ago when having a very tough time with my above knee amputation. It was my 68Th surgery and it’s not living with one leg that’s the hard part, it’s the excruciating Phantom Limb Pain. That has been a complete nightmare. Constant burning, crushing, gnawing. Feels like a vice with razors is enclosing tighter and tighter. if anyone knows of a good pain doctor in Southeast Michigan, I’d love to know.
Again what a lovely poem. Would I be able to she it on a support site I belong to called MD Junction? I would give all credit to Nancy and this Blog? When is there another contest, because I would like to share mine also. Thank you. Good to be here
Staci
Thanks again to Nancy for the lovely poem.

I am so grateful to read this poem today as I’ve been needing external encouragement to find places to rest with the pain I’m shouldering at present.
I do have very good pain management help. I hope Stacy finds some too.

A beautiful poem.
My mantra lately when I’m getting bogged down by pain is much shorter.
It’s:
“Oy vey! Oy Vey!! OY VEY!!!”
Not as eloquent, but it helps me take myself and my pain a whole lot less serious.

That’s a nice one. I especially like the last two lines.
