A few milligrams perhaps and you are bound to go ahead with the thirst of a school bully wishing hard to exhibit his strength each moment. Girls would flock around and men would gesture to clear from you vicinities. That’s why the advice is always to buy Cialis, to buy it and taste the true flavor of life.

Are You Green?

October 15th, 2007 · 6 Comments

This blog is, of course, mostly about pain.  But every now and again, I’ll write about a good cause.  Blog Action Day is one of these worthwhile ventures, focusing on Environmental Awareness.

Today is Blog Action Day, designed to have thousands of bloggers (last check… over 7,000 blogs) unite for 1 day, to talk about 1 issue.  “Will that change the world, just one day?  Not immediately, but it in effect unites the blogging community.  And once the community begins to unite, anything is possible.”

Environmental Awareness is an issue close to my heart, as I deeply value the Earth and its plants and animals.  In the last few years, I’ve made personal changes towards walking more gently on the Earth, including:

  • recycling whatever I can, including paper and plastics
  • riding my bicycle to work, on errands, and to local activities, taking my car less often
  • carrying a few plastic bags in my purse and car to re-use, instead of getting several new ones on each shopping trip
  • taking plastic containers when we eat out, so I don’t use new ones for leftovers
  • becoming an “almost 100%” vegetarian
  • contributing to environmental organizations, including the World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, and American Friends Service Committee, and supporting my daughter in contributing

I hope you’ll share what you do to protect and care for our Earth in the comments.  And as an extra bonus, take a look at this funny video of a seagull “shopping.”  Remember, a laugh is great for increasing comfort!

Another good suggestion. We recently changed our outdoor lights to cfl’s.

I started using a more natural company for bath/cosmetic stuff. I use a lot of Lush. They do a lot of things which make sense to me from an environmental perspective. As a side note, I find that lush is good for my pain in a few ways, one because of the essential oils which provide aromatherapy, and also because I’m taking better care of my skin, which seems to be important for RSD.

Nickie, thanks for relating your suggestion to your pain condition, too. Finding products without artificial fragrances has been quite difficult for me, though they’re out there if you really look.

Here in Australia we are able to elect to have our elactricity supply from renewable energy/green power. Also we get government rebates so that to supply our own energy from solar power would in real terms cost us about A$5000. At present we’re having all our lights replaced with newly available globes that give good cool lights but use only 5ws of power.
I have a pull along trolley for shopping and markets which saves on bags. I guess every little bit helps.
