People in pain need inspiration and hope. Our Inspirational Quote Contest entries may provide that for you.
And now for the winning entry…
Everything can be taken from a man but the last of human freedoms, the right to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances – the right to choose one’s own way.
~ Dr. Viktor Frankl
Dr. Frankl’s words were submitted by Brian V. Thanks for sharing that with us, Brian.
As you may know, Viktor Frankl (1905 -1997) was a Jewish Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist, as well as a Holocaust survivor. His book Man’s Search for Meaning describes his experiences in a concentration camp. He came to believe there is meaning in all forms of existence, even the most difficult ones, and thus a reason to continue living. In German, the title is Saying Yes To Life, Regardless.
Brian has won 2 prizes donated by Meditation Station, the web site of the Meditation Society of America:
- a Guided Meditation CD
- 12 issues of their newsletter, The Inner Traveler, on CD
Meditation Station is a wonderful website that shares meditation concepts and techniques from all traditions. At their site, there are dozens of “how-to” meditation methods for you to learn and benefit from. They write, “if it helps you evolve in consciousness, self knowledge and well being, it will have served its purpose.” Now that’s inspirational!
Brian, please send in your address and we’ll send off your prizes to you. Thanks to everyone who entered! Look for the top 10 runner-up entries on Friday, which I feel honored to share with you. The quotes submitted are truly inspirational! And thanks to Meditation Station for contributing the meditation CD and newsletter subscription.
