Drumroll, please… And the winner is…

Rebecca, who suggested a family fun night. Congratulations!!
Her winning entry:
One of my favorite ways to relax entails our family fun night. My 4 children and I, (yes, it IS possible to relax with four kids), light candles around the room, put on mud masks, and cut up cucumbers and put them on our eyes. We then put on a meditation CD for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, we wash off our masks, and take turns giving each other back and foot rubs. Sometimes we mix it up with a yoga session, or some simple deep breathing. Whether we get into the relaxation or just burst out laughing with the masks and cucumbers, it’s really an enjoyable evening of family fun.
What I liked about this suggestion:
- not only does Rebecca relax, but she involves her whole family so they benefit too
- it’s easy and fun, and involves laughter
- Rebecca’s not rigid about the evening – if it ends up in laughter instead of quiet and calm, that’s good too
I hope you have a chance to try your own family fun night!
Rebecca’s won a meditation CD from the World Wide Online Meditation Center, which I hope the family can use at their next family fun night. The Meditation Center is a user-friendly site, offering clear, concise meditation instructions from various meditation traditions. Created in 1998, it was designed to help visitors feel as though they’re at an actual center. Different rooms offer:
- tips and general info to help you get started
- different meditation methods – some for basic meditation practice, and some for specific purposes, such as healing or centering
- a lecture hall to provide insight regarding meditation and the path of spiritual growth
- a discussion board where meditators can share their experiences
- an audio meditation room, with CDs, tapes and downloadable meditations available for purchasing
Rebecca, please send in your address and we’ll send off your prize to you. Thanks to everyone who entered – lots of creative ideas! Look for the top 10 runner-ups on Monday. And thanks to the World Wide Online Medication Center for contributing the meditation CD. Look for another contest in September.
And 1 contest leads to another. A contest I’m entering is at The Blogging Experiment, where I’d win a review of this site, with suggestions to improve it. Always trying to improve the experience of my readers! To my fellow bloggers, you can enter too. (The Blogging Experiment itself is dedicated to teaching people how to make money blogging.)

That is so cool! Her kids will reap the benefits of being taught the importance of relaxing for their entire lives.

What a great thing to do for yourself & your family. They say when you think back on happy memories it’s the experiences that come to mind. This one would have to be pretty special.
